NeedToMeet is essentially meeting poll software. Since Daylight Savings Time on March 14, 2021, we have an issue where some, not all, users’ time zone schedules meetings one hour ahead. NeedToMeet uses the time zone set within a user’s browser and/or device, but the issue of being one hour ahead happens even if their browser time zone and computer time zone is set correctly.
For example, John offers two meeting times to attendees: 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm on Thursday. Attendees receive a poll that incorrectly offers times on Thursday at 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm.
NeedToMeet uses javascript Moment.js for detecting the user’s time zone, and also offers the ability to change your own time zone if preferred. It is not currently working.
After the timezone issue is fixed, we would like to move it to a better platform than CodeIgnighter. While WordPress offers many benefits, we feel React, Laravel, or similar would be a better long-term solution.
If the time zone project works, we would be open to continuing the relationship.
